I bought a Gibson RB4, Greg Rich Era banjo from Banjo Warehouse in 2020. I traded in a Gibson 1930 conversion banjo. Geoff and his son were a pleasure to work with. Their prices were very competitive on both transactions so I am strongly recommending them as the place to go if you ever need a banjo.

I purchased a used 2016 Huber VRB3 from Geoff and it was a great experience. Geoff called me and answered a few questions I had. Banjo was cleaned, new head and strings and the set up was great. You will not be disappointed with Geoff.

I learned to play the banjo from Geoff’s online lessons. I have attended three of his banjo camps and learned even more from them, and I bought a Gibson RB-4 from him in 2020 and I love it. I own several other banjos, but the Gibson is my favorite.

I bought a few banjos from Banjo Warehouse and they always did fast shipping and the banjo was in great working order. The last one I got from them was a 1931 Gibson Banjo with the original tone hoop. Banjo Warehouse had that set up with the perfect action and tight head on the banjo. I should’ve never let that one go.

I have purchased multiple Gibson prewar banjos from Banjo Warehouse. I also have used all of Geoff Hohwald, the owner’s, learning materials, have attended multiple banjo camps he led, and have taken private lessons from him. Most of what I know about playing banjo I learned from him. Geoff is extremely knowledgeable regarding all things banjo, and is just a fun guy to be around. Words won’t be able to describe how awesome of an experience I had visiting Geoff and Andy but I’m sure going to try. I recently visited the banjo warehouse to listen to several different rings for a conversion I’m doing and also hopefully meet my childhood hero who wrote the books that I’ve learned from 20 years ago. I spent 5 hours there and not once did I feel rushed or that I was taking up too much time. No sales pitches or pressure in anyway. I got to talk about banjos, components and music while playing songs and learning new things in person from the master. I couldn’t have been more grateful for such a cool experience. Towards the end of the day, I picked up and played a 1932 Gibson that was just incredible. Because I flew in, they shipped it to me which was packaged unbelievably well and was still in tune when I unboxed it. The way I was treated was truly first class. This place just brings happiness to the soul and you won’t find better people than Geoff and Andy.

Ordered my banjo on Tuesday night, received it Friday morning in excellent condition! Sonny Osborne Chief, 2005! Looks almost new, excellent set up, action perfect. Andy did a great job assuring me I had seven days to try it out and return if I wanted to. Needless to say he will not be getting this banjo back, sounds amazing! The set up alone is worth a lot. Great folks!!!

This is a great place to buy a banjo. Not a big box store with every instrument in the world blaring out in the background while you try to hear what yours sounds like, but a family owned and operated business that is extremely personal. Huge selection where taking your time and comparing instruments is highly encouraged. Geoff and Andy are great to work with and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I bought a banjo and got home and changed my mind and wanted a different one. No problem — they even met me there late at night and the exchange was simple, no questions, no penalties. Highly recommended.

I recently purchased a 1926 TB3 flathead conversion from Geoff Hohwald and Banjo Warehouse. It was at a VERY reasonable price, and all I can say is that it is a beautiful banjo. The sound is incredible, just what I expected, and it has at least 2 important components of a pre-war Mastertone. Of course, the neck is not original, but it is absolutely beautiful and perfect in all respects. Geoff was very easy to work with, and I would not hesitate to buy another instrument from him. Flew down to Atlanta a couple of weeks ago and spent the better part of a day picking on and comparing banjos from the late 1920s to the 1990s.
