Inspired by the legendary 16″ L-5 archtop pioneered by Lloyd Loar, The Loar LH-700-VS is a professional-grade guitar that serves as an accurate modern reproduction of a pre-war masterpiece. As the flagship archtop in The Loar’s lineup, it’s designed for discriminating jazz players who demand the clear, open voice and classic punch that defined the Golden Age of archtops, built through parallel bracing and extensive historic research.
The hand-carved solid AAA spruce top and AAA flamed maple back and sides sit atop a deep 16″ lower bout body, paired with a figured maple neck with a vintage-style skunk stripe and bound ebony fretboard in a vintage V profile. A compensated adjustable ebony bridge, nickel-plated trapeze tailpiece and Grover Sta-Tite Butterbean tuners complete the build, finished in tobacco sunburst and shipped with a hardshell case.
