The Recording King RM-998-D delivers the round-body silhouette of the original pre-war resonator guitars with the authenticity the design demands. A 9.5″ hand-spun Recording King cone sits at the center of the instrument, concentrating all its energy through a single cone for a raw, immediate voice that’s drier and more cutting than a tricone, the sound that defined the Delta blues.
The nickel-plated bell brass body delivers incredible projection and classic resonator tone, and the three-pronged chickenfoot coverplate is lifted directly from the pre-war originals. A Honduran mahogany neck, padauk fretboard with M.O.P. dot inlays, hard maple bridge with ebony and maple saddle, and nickel-plated tuners round out a build made for serious players.
