The Recording King RM-998-R is the Style-O in its most classically restrained form. In place of the RM-998-D’s three-pronged chickenfoot, a single round hole coverplate gives this instrument a cleaner, more open look and lets the 9.5″ hand-spun cone project more freely, for a slightly more open and immediate top-end response.
Everything beneath the coverplate is built to the same standard: a Honduran mahogany neck, hard maple bridge with ebony and maple saddle, and a nickel-plated bell brass body that delivers the dry, cutting single-cone voice that defines the Delta blues tradition. A bell brass tailpiece, M.O.P. dot position markers and nickel-plated tuners complete the build.
