Description

Geoff Stelling has made some of the finest banjos in the history of banjo. He is retiring this year and was inducted into the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame last year. This all has caused a great deal of interest in his banjos and they have become scarce and expensive. We are searching all over the world to have any of his banjos at all available.

This has a very thick maple shell which is original and a curly maple neck and resonator. All of the hardware on the pot is original including a Stelling No Hole Tone Ring and Stelling Ribbon One Piece flange. The fretboard is ebony with a gorgeous Red Fox Maple Leaf inlay. The tuners are all gold aftermarket tuners with amber buttons and they all look fantastic. This is a very attractive banjo that has a clean hardshell case.

Condition

This has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. The banjo has been disassembled and all of the hardware has been buffed to a very nice shine. There is some wear on the armrest and tailpiece that is pictured but the metal itself is glowing. The finish looks great and has been waxed and also shines. There is some wear in the fretboard around the first few frets which is light and also common. There is also some minor wear in the first few frets themselves. The banjo definitely has been played but it still was taken care of and has been properly cleaned and set up. There are spikes at frets 7,9 and 10. The hardshell case is clean.

Set Up

This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse. The head is a new Remo frosted head and is set to 90. The bridge is the original Stelling Bridge and the intonation is set. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and this is a phenomenal player. Stelling Banjos are getting HARD to find and this will deliver the Stelling Banjo experience all the way.
