The Deering Goodtime Six-R 6-String Banjo is a brand new, right-handed 6-string resonator banjo with the discontinued Midnight Maple fingerboard, made in the USA. It is tuned like a guitar, so a guitar player can use the chord shapes they already know.

We bought all of the Deering inventory from a banjo retailer that is going out of business. It does not carry a Deering manufacturer’s warranty, so we sell it below Deering’s list price and back it with a Banjo Warehouse warranty. It is available now at Banjo Warehouse, an authorized Deering dealer in Yellow Springs, Ohio.

Who the Deering Goodtime Six-R is for

The Goodtime Six-R is for guitar players who want the sound of a banjo. It is tuned E, A, D, G, B, E, standard guitar tuning, so a guitar player can use the chord shapes they already know, and it can be tuned to other tunings. A resonator banjo projects its sound forward, toward the listener.

The Midnight Maple fingerboard

This banjo has the discontinued Midnight Maple fretboard, instead of the fingerboard used on Deering’s current models. The neck is rock maple with a comfortable “D” shape and a satin finish, with 22 pressed-in nickel silver frets.
