The Madison RK-R35 gives banjo players a high-quality, great-sounding banjo with a classic Mastertone-style bell brass cast tone ring and one-piece flange. The Recording King Madison RK-R35 is built around the Recording king King 3-ply steam bent maple rim, using the same rim and hardware as in the best-selling RK-ELITE-75 (a $2000 banjo). The maple neck has an adjustable two-way truss rod and a comfortable padauk fretboard. With a 24-hook brass tension hoop, players can enjoy precise adjustment of the head tension. The planetary tuners, geared 5th peg and dual coordinator rods are professional components that add an authentic feel to these impressive banjos. The Madison RK-R35 has a maple resonator with hand-rubbed brown matte finish. The peghead and fretboard feature Recording King’s Seagull inlay, for a banjo that looks as classic as it sounds. The Madison features American threaded nickel-plated hook and nut hardware, presto-style tailpiece and armrest, and comes standard with an authentic Remo head.

Geoff Hohwald has been playing banjo since the 1960’s. He became active in the thriving bluegrass community in Ohio as a teenager while studying at Ohio State University. He has played professionally as a guitarist and banjo player with several bluegrass bands ever since. Geoff moved to Atlanta after college and co-founded the Watch and Learn publishing company. They now publish a full line of musical instrument instruction books and digital modules. He also owned several music stores in Atlanta from the 1980s through the mid-2000s and is still an active participant in the musical instrument re-sale community in the southeast.
Banjo Warehouse is a family business resulting from 50 years of experience in music and 40 years of experience in musical instrument retail sales and education. Our focus is on the 5-string flathead banjo, but we also occasionally have a good selection of guitars and mandolins (and other folk instruments).
