Gold Tone ResoMaple/L Concert-Scale Curly Maple Resonator Ukulele Left-Handed with Gig Bag

The Gold Tone ResoMaple/L brings the warmth-cutting, heads-turning tone of a resonator instrument to the concert ukulele format — and wraps it in some of the most eye-catching tonewoods you’ll find at this price point. Figured curly maple covers the top, back, and sides, giving the body a luminous, three-dimensional grain that looks as striking as it sounds. Under the hood, a biscuit-style cone does exactly what resonator cones are meant to do: project. Whether you’re playing in a living-room session, an open mic, or alongside louder instruments, the ResoMaple/L cuts through with a clear, bright voice that a traditional acoustic uke simply cannot match.

Gold Tone built this instrument around a slimline mahogany neck that keeps the profile comfortable across a 14-inch concert scale, making it approachable for players coming from standard ukulele as well as those crossing over from guitar or banjo. The rosewood fingerboard carries 19 frets with clean dot inlays, the nut is cut from bone at a 1-3/8-inch width, and the upgraded Kluson-style tuners hold pitch reliably without the slop you sometimes find on entry-level machines. Cream ABS binding, brushed aluminum and chrome hardware, and a natural satin finish round out a package that punches well above its price class.

Your ResoMaple/L ships factory-fresh direct from Gold Tone, where every instrument receives a professional setup at their Titusville, Florida shop before it leaves — so it arrives in tune, playing in spec, and ready to make noise. As an authorized Gold Tone dealer, we back the sale with the full manufacturer warranty. Our team is here before and after your purchase for setup questions, string recommendations, or accessory advice. A heavy-duty gig bag is included with every ResoMaple/L.

A note on the photographs: the images shown are of the right-handed ResoMaple. This listing is the factory left-handed model — Gold Tone photographs the line in right-handed form. The instrument you receive is built left-handed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the ResoMaple/L sound compared to a regular acoustic ukulele?

The biscuit-style resonator cone gives the ResoMaple/L noticeably more volume and projection than a standard acoustic concert uke. The tone is crisper and slightly brighter, with a quick attack that works especially well for fingerpicking styles, slide playing, or any situation where you need to be heard without amplification. Players who love the sound of vintage resonator instruments — but want something in a compact uke format — tend to find it a very satisfying combination.

Is a concert-scale resonator ukulele a good choice for a player who already owns a standard uke?

Absolutely. The 14-inch concert scale and standard GCEA tuning mean your existing chord shapes, scales, and songs transfer directly — there is no relearning required. The slimline neck profile keeps the feel familiar, while the resonator cone adds a whole new tonal dimension to what you already know how to play. Many players keep both a standard acoustic and a resonator uke because they genuinely serve different sonic purposes.
