This 2004 Crafters of Tennessee Tradition is extremely rare, and it represents a high point in American banjo making in the last 25 years from Mark Taylor. It has been set up by our banjo technician Tara and ships in a functional hardshell case.
Geoff Hohwald says it is extraordinarily well built. Here he plays it.
How this Crafters of Tennessee Tradition is built
The Tradition has a mahogany neck and resonator with a three ply hard rock maple rim and an arch top tone ring that gives you a bright, Ralph Stanley style sound. It has a Presto style tailpiece and planetary style tuners.
The label inside is signed by Mark Taylor, serial 04014.
Condition
This banjo has been played, with honest wear on the resonator, neck and hardware. Still, it represents excellent value for the price.
