Why a parlor guitar?
A parlor is a small bodied guitar built for the way most people actually play at home: sitting down, singing along, or working out a part late at night. The short 25.35 inch scale takes tension off the strings, and the neck joining the body at the 12th fret puts the bridge nearer the middle of the top, which is the shape old blues and folk records were made on.
The Woods
A spruce top over mahogany is the most familiar pairing in flat top guitars for a reason: the spruce adds clarity and headroom, the mahogany keeps the low mids warm. Back and sides in mahogany, a rosewood fingerboard, and acrylic sound bar inlays.
In short: a Single 0 parlor in Vintage Burst at $239.99, shipped free.

The Dirty 30s Series
Dirty 30s is Recording King’s budget line, named for the decade its looks come from. We already carry the Dirty 30s banjos and mandolins, and these parlors are the flat top guitars in the same family.
What is a Single 0 body?
Single 0 is the smallest of the traditional flat top body sizes, narrower across the lower bout than a 000 or a dreadnought. It is comfortable to hold, easy to travel with, and produces a focused sound rather than a loud one.
Does the 12 fret neck joint matter?
It changes where the bridge sits on the top and it shortens the reach to the first position, which many players find more comfortable. It is the traditional parlor layout rather than a cost saving.
Where is it made?
Recording King instruments are made in China. The Dirty 30s line is where the brand puts its vintage styling at the lowest price.
