Recording King RP-30-7E-MA Dirty 30s Acoustic-Electric Parlor Guitar Natural Mahogany: Single 0 Parlor, Mahogany Top, Mahogany Back and Sides, Gold Foil Pickup
The Recording King RP-30-7E-MA is an acoustic-electric Single 0 parlor guitar with an all mahogany body, top included, finished in Natural Mahogany and fitted with Recording King’s Gold Foil pickup in the soundhole. The 12 fret neck joint and short 25.35 inch scale make it an easy instrument to sit down with, and the pickup lets you plug it in.

The Gold Foil Pickup
This is the plug-in version of the RP-30-7-MA. Recording King fits it with its Gold Foil pickup, mounted in the soundhole, and describes the plugged-in tone as clean and effortless. The body, woods, neck and scale are the same as the acoustic model.
Why a parlor guitar?
A parlor is a small bodied guitar built for the way most people actually play at home: sitting down, singing along, or working out a part late at night. The short 25.35 inch scale takes tension off the strings, and the neck joining the body at the 12th fret puts the bridge nearer the middle of the top, which is the shape old blues and folk records were made on.
The Woods
Mahogany is the wood players reach for when they want a warm, woody midrange rather than a bright top end, and here it is used for the top as well as the back and sides. Back and sides in mahogany, a rosewood fingerboard, and acrylic sound bar inlays.

The Dirty 30s Series
Dirty 30s is Recording King’s budget line, named for the decade its looks come from. We also carry the Dirty 30s banjos, mandolins and resonator guitars.
Is there a version without the pickup?
Yes. The Recording King RP-30-7-MA is the same parlor guitar without the Gold Foil pickup.
What is a Single 0 body?
Single 0 is the smallest of the traditional flat top body sizes, narrower across the lower bout than a 000 or a dreadnought. It is comfortable to hold, easy to travel with, and produces a focused sound rather than a loud one.
Does the 12 fret neck joint matter?
It changes where the bridge sits on the top and it shortens the reach to the first position, which many players find more comfortable. It is the traditional parlor layout rather than a cost saving.
Where is it made?
Recording King instruments are made in China. The Dirty 30s line is where the brand puts its vintage styling at the lowest price.
