The Gold Tone Dojo-DLX is what happens when a resonator guitar and a five-string banjo meet on genuinely equal terms. A cutaway curly maple body with decorative binding carries a reverse-cone resonator and a biscuit bridge, while the neck above it is a proper five-string banjo neck with planetary-gear tuners and a rosewood fretboard. The result is a sweet, sustaining voice that suits expressive fills and solo playing far more than a bluegrass banjo ever will.
A parallel-pull tailpiece keeps even pressure across the biscuit bridge for a balanced response string to string, and a stacked single-coil humbucking pickup sits just below the neck for players taking it to a stage. Gold Tone builds it with a Zero Glide nut, which is a meaningful difference in intonation and open-string tone. This is a banjo for players who want a sound nobody else in the room is making.
This instrument ships factory-fresh direct from Gold Tone, where every instrument receives a professional setup at their Titusville, Florida shop before it leaves. It arrives with its gig bag and the full Gold Tone manufacturer warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Dojo-DLX a banjo or a resonator guitar?
It is a banjo. It has a five-string banjo neck and is played like a banjo. What it borrows from the resonator-guitar world is the cone: instead of a bluegrass tone ring and resonator back, the sound is produced by a reverse cone and biscuit bridge, which is where the sweeter, more sustaining voice comes from.
Can I plug it in?
Yes. A stacked single-coil humbucking pickup is mounted below the neck, so it is ready for a stage or a recording session without adding an external pickup.
