The Gold Tone OB-150EF is the Orange Blossom bluegrass banjo with a 24-fret extended neck. Those extra frets give you a full two octaves on the first string, reaching a high D where a standard 22-fret banjo stops at C, and the longer neck adds weight and string tension for a fuller, punchier voice. Underneath it is the same pre-war-style flathead architecture the OB-150 is known for: a three-ply maple rim, one-piece cast flange, and a bell brass tone ring. Professionally set up at Gold Tone’s factory in Titusville, FL and shipped with a hard case.

The OB-150EF is for the bluegrass player who wants more range without leaving the classic Orange Blossom tone behind. The “EF” is the extended 24-fret neck. Those two extra frets open up a full two octaves on the first string, so you can reach a high D where a normal 22-fret banjo tops out at C. The added neck length also brings a little more weight and string tension, which translates into a fuller, punchier sound.
The core is pure OB-150. A 20-hole bell brass flathead tone ring sits on an 11-inch three-ply maple rim with a one-piece cast flange, the same combination found on the most collectible pre-war Mastertones. That architecture produces the deep, focused, woody bark that defines Scruggs-era bluegrass. A maple neck with vintage-style inlays, a rosewood fingerboard, a ZeroGlide nut, and Gold Tone planetary tuners keep it comfortable and in tune, and the satin finish keeps the neck fast under your hand.
Every OB-150EF is professionally set up at Gold Tone’s factory in Titusville, Florida before it ships, with head tension, bridge placement, action, and intonation all dialed in. A hard case is included.
