Should I choose the tenor or the concert ResoUke?

They are the same instrument apart from the neck: identical brass body, reverse-cone biscuit bridge, Gold Tone/Beard coverplate, hardware and price. The tenor runs a 16-inch scale against the concert’s 14.5 inches, which means wider fret spacing, a bit more string tension, and a slightly fuller low end as the longer strings drive the cone. Both tune to standard GCEA, so your chord shapes transfer either way. If you have larger hands, already play guitar or banjo, or simply prefer a roomier neck, take the tenor; if you want the most familiar, compact uke feel, take the concert.

Can I use standard ukulele strings on the ResoUke Tenor?

You can, but I’d encourage you to stick with the custom-gauged nylon strings Gold Tone specifies for this instrument, at least initially. The saddle break angle and cone response on a resonator uke are tuned around specific string tensions, and swapping to a standard set can dull the resonator’s projection or throw off the intonation — and on the longer tenor scale, string tension matters even more. Once you’re familiar with how the instrument responds, experimenting with strings is totally reasonable.
