The Recording King RR-36-VS Maxwell delivers true resonator tone from a European hand-spun Recording King spider cone paired with a true sandcast spider bridge. Cast rather than stamped, that bridge transfers string energy to the cone more efficiently, producing a fuller, more focused, and more responsive voice. The all-mahogany body and parallelogram soundwell add crisp attack with minimal overtones, ideal for cutting through a mix.
A mahogany neck with a roundneck profile and dovetail joint lets it be played in any position, from Delta blues to old-time fingerstyle. The padauk fretboard carries dot inlays and ivory binding, and it’s finished in a classic gloss sunburst with Butterbean tuning machines.
