Where the roundneck RR-50-VS lets you play in any position, the Recording King RR-60-VS is built exclusively for lap playing. It’s the sound of early country blues, Hawaiian slack key, Appalachian gospel and Chicago bottleneck. The squareneck profile raises the strings high off the fretboard, making conventional fretting impossible and slide playing effortless, for a tone that’s bigger, more open and more resonant than a roundneck can produce.
Crafted entirely from mahogany with a parallelogram soundwell and 12-fret neck joint, it shares the same professional-grade build as its roundneck sibling: a hand-spun aluminum Recording King cone, ebony fretboard with mother-of-pearl dot markers, spider bridge and bell brass tailpiece, finished in a classic vintage sunburst.
