Gold Tone OB-150WF Orange Blossom Wide-Fingerboard Bluegrass Banjo with Case
$1,399.99
The Gold Tone OB-150WF is the Orange Blossom bluegrass banjo built with a wide fingerboard and a wider nut, giving you more room between the strings for cleaner fretting and comfortable rolls. It is an easy recommendation for players with larger hands or anyone who simply prefers more space under the fingers. The tone is classic OB-150: a three-ply maple rim, one-piece cast flange, and a bell brass flathead tone ring for authentic pre-war bark. Professionally set up at Gold Tone’s factory in Titusville, FL and shipped with a hard case.

The OB-150WF answers a common request from bluegrass players: more room across the fingerboard. The “WF” is a wide fingerboard paired with a wider nut, which spaces the strings a little further apart. That extra spacing makes clean fretting easier, helps keep your rolls crisp, and is a genuine comfort upgrade for players with larger hands, all without changing the instrument’s classic feel anywhere else.
Tone is full OB-150. A 20-hole bell brass flathead tone ring sits on an 11-inch three-ply maple rim with a one-piece cast flange, the pre-war Mastertone recipe that produces deep, focused, woody projection. The maple neck carries vintage-style inlays on a rosewood fingerboard, a ZeroGlide nut keeps open and fretted notes in agreement, and Gold Tone planetary tuners hold pitch through a long jam. The satin finish keeps the neck quick under your hand.
Every OB-150WF is professionally set up at Gold Tone’s factory in Titusville, Florida before it ships, with head tension, bridge placement, action, and intonation dialed in. A hard case is included.

More Bluegrass Resonator Banjos
The Gold Tone OB-150RF is the Orange Blossom bluegrass banjo with a 12-inch radiused rosewood fingerboard. Instead of the dead-flat board almost every bluegrass banjo uses, the surface curves gently across its width, the way a guitar or mandolin board does — so chord shapes fall under a naturally curved hand and barres take less effort. Everything else is standard Orange Blossom: 22 frets, a three-ply maple rim, one-piece cast flange, and a 20-hole bell brass flathead tone ring. Professionally set up at Gold Tone’s factory in Titusville, FL and shipped with a hard case.
The Deering Goodtime Zombie Killer III, a limited edition resonator banjo: apocalyptic rust hardware, a blood splatter finish on the resonator and heel, a matte black head, zombie fingerboard inlays and a blood drip Goodtime logo. About 6 lbs. Made in Spring Valley, California. In stock, $1,399 with free shipping.
A used 2010 Flint Hill FHB-280A five-string resonator banjo with an archtop tone ring, a mahogany neck and resonator, a three-ply hard rock maple rim and the original hardshell case.
A Madison-series resonator banjo sharing the R35's pre-war-style bell brass tone ring and one-piece flange, with mahogany throughout for a warmer, deeper voice.
The Goodtime Special adds Deering's patented Goodtime Special steel tone ring to the Goodtime resonator banjo, for more volume, more sustain and a brighter attack. 3-ply violin grade maple rim, rock maple neck with Art Deco hardwood inlays, US Bronze powder finished hardware. 8.75 lbs, handcrafted in Spring Valley, California. $1,229 with free shipping and professional setup by our banjo tech Tara.
The Gold Tone OB-175 brings Orange Blossom Mastertone construction to a more accessible price, shipping with a gig bag rather than a hardshell case. A genuine step up from entry-level resonator banjos.
The Deering Artisan Goodtime Two is the Goodtime Two resonator banjo dressed up: dark red mahogany stain, a Midnight Maple fingerboard with vintage Artisan style inlays, and planetary tuners. Same 3-ply violin grade maple rim, about 6.5 lbs. Made in Spring Valley, California. $1,329 with free shipping.
The Gold Tone OB-150EF is the Orange Blossom bluegrass banjo with Gold Tone’s Extra Fret neck — 24 frets instead of the usual 22. Those extra frets give you a full two octaves on the first string, reaching a high D where a standard 22-fret banjo stops at C, and because the longer neck keeps the same scale length and string tension, it feels familiar in the hand while sitting the bridge closer to the center of the head for a warmer voice with excellent clarity up the neck. Underneath it is the same pre-war-style flathead architecture the OB-150 is known for: a three-ply maple rim, one-piece cast flange, and a bell brass tone ring. Professionally set up at Gold Tone’s factory in Titusville, FL and shipped with a hard case.
