The Recording King RK-R36-BR Madison Mahogany Resonator Banjo shares the same professional-grade foundation as the R35: the same pre-war-style bell brass cast tone ring, the same one-piece flange, the same steam-bent 3-ply maple rim. Swap maple for mahogany throughout the resonator and neck, and the voice shifts warmer and deeper, with more body in the low mids.
The mahogany neck carries an adjustable two-way truss rod and a comfortable padauk fretboard, and the 24-hook brass tension hoop gives the kind of precise head adjustment you’d expect on any serious instrument. Planetary tuners, a geared 5th peg and dual coordinator rods finish the build in a rich brown gloss with seagull inlay.
