The Recording King RK-OT25-BR Madison Open Back Banjo is built for the old-time tradition. Its open-back design and steam-bent maple rim give it the woody, resonant tone old-time players chase, backed by an old-style Remo FiberSkyn head chosen for its warm, vintage voice.
The scooped padauk fretboard is the centerpiece, a feature built for the clawhammer player: the frailing scoop lets you pick further up the neck for a warmer, woodier sound. A maple neck with adjustable truss rod, planetary tuners and a bone nut with vintage-style plastic 5th string nut round out the build, finished in hand-rubbed brown satin.
