The Recording King RM-991 brings the classic tricone sound to life with three 6″ hand-spun aluminum cones connected by a T-shaped bridge, spreading the string’s energy across all three at once. Two cones sit on the bass side and one on the treble, giving a naturally balanced EQ with a warmer, sweeter voice than a single-cone resonator, and harmonics that keep unfolding well after the initial pick attack.
A satin-finished Honduran mahogany neck with a comfortable C carve and padauk fretboard makes this roundneck instrument approachable for any guitarist, while the nickel-plated bell brass body, triangular coverplate and sealed die-cast tuners deliver the projection and sustain that made tricones a stage and studio favorite.
