The Recording King RM-997-VG wears an aged green patina finish that looks and feels like it’s been played on a porch for years, and it isn’t paint. Every guitar’s oxidized green splotches and spots are unique, so no two Swamp Dogs look exactly alike. Underneath that patina is a serious instrument, with a bell brass body that rings with sustain and a voluminous midrange.
A 9.5″ hand-spun aluminum cone drives sound through the body with the immediacy that defines the metal-body resonator tradition, and a chickenfoot coverplate completes a look pulled straight from a 1930s photograph. Grover open-gear tuners, a bone nut, hard maple biscuit bridge and a comfortable C-profile mahogany neck keep it playing as good as it looks.
